Dear men,
Put your money where your conviction is.
We live in a deeply polarized world. Schools of thought, faiths and cultures are all competing for hearts and minds, and they are not doing it with words alone. They are investing everything they have: money, publicity, strategic thinking and, ultimately, time in strategic thinking and the efgective implementation of these plans. From the LGBTQ mob, Transgender advocates, Transhumanism advocates, Seedless crop advocates, it is the Ideas that are funded that spread, Convictions that are merely admired fade.
Scripture is clear that faith without works is dead. Jesus also said where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
So ask yourself: what do my wallet and calendar say I believe?
A boycott of products from companies whose profits sponsor evil may not be possible in every case. Supply chains are tangled, and alternatives are not always affordable. But where it is possible, let your faith show up at the counter, refuse to fund what contradicts what you confess.
Then go further; Fund what you believe in. Wherever you are, and with whatever you have, give. If you are convinced of the great work your local assembly is doing, support it faithfully, with tithes and offerings that reflect your gratitude. If a ministry, non-profit or advocacy group stands for a cause you hold dear, let your giving be commensurate with your conviction, never scarce.
And remember, giving is not only cash. Your gifts, influence and hours are offerings too.
Belief that costs nothing is only an opinion. So men, before you defend your faith in the next online debate, ask whether you have backed it with sacrifice. Put your money where your mouth is.
I’ll write you next Monday, reflect on these in the mean time.
JACK, Sogbeye
God’s man
