Dear men,
Leave the masses.
Salt of the earth, light of the world, city set on a hill — all these are expressions Jesus used to describe the believer. Salt adds value and taste while keeping our surroundings from going bad. Light shows the way and sets an example. A city denotes an influence seen and felt far and wide.
To live this, we have to think differently, act deliberately, and refuse to be carried by the crowd.
Decide that going forward you will leave the trap of popular thinking, the pity parties of complainers, and the company of those who have a problem with every solution. Decide that more than anything, you are progressively being part of the solution to challenges — not a problem to be solved yourself — both for the reward of profit and for posterity.
It is not that I am asking you to ignore the sufferings of those around you.
I am telling you that to do more than sympathize, you must rise above their thought patterns. Problems are not solved with the mindset of the masses, they are wired to complain and point fingers.
Step into leadership in your own life first.
Lead your thoughts, habits, and decisions. Influence those around you not with loud opinions, but with consistent action that solves problems. Let your presence inspire progress, not echo despair.
Be deliberate with your resources.
Invest them in creating, building, teaching, encouraging, and innovating. The world doesn’t need more critics, it needs men who transform situations by showing up.
Take responsibility for outcomes.
Criticize less and always ask how you can be part of the solution or the solution itself.
I’ll write you next week. In the meantime, read this every day this week and share it with your clique.
